Ballad of a Soldier. / Robin Lindsey-Morgan (none (Retired Marine) )
I am a soldier. My name is freedom.
I walk in the valley of the shadow of death.
I fear no evil.
I stand for courage, compassion, dignity and life.
My love is democracy.
I am the light in the darkness.
I am the sword of the meek.
I do not hate.
My code is justice.
I do not pale in the face of danger.
I will not turn a blind eye.
I do not tolerate transgressions.
I am an eagle.
I empower the weak.
I march boldly.
I cry quietly.
I sleep lightly.
I love unconditionally.
Call me in the night,
I will come.
Pray for me in the darkness,
I will bring my lamp.
Whisper my name,
and I will hear.
I am the blood of innocence.
I am not one face, but many.
I am a mother, a father, a son & a daughter.
I am no one and I am everyone.
I am a soldier and FREEDOM is my name.

Deepest Symapthy to you all. My friends and I (Retired Veterans of Foreign War) stumbled upon your Memorial honoring your beloved Kevin. We felt compelled to honor such a brave and giving young man. Yes, giving all for his country and fellow American's. May GOD BLESS you each and everyone of you. Sincerely yours, Veterans from Louisville, Kentucky.
A soldier was buried today,
some went to their knees, softly to pray.
Many wept and slung tears today,
so many came here to pray today.
What can one do, what can we say-?
as one of our men, were buried today.
Oh, the grief and sorrow felt from all,
help brings back memories to recall.
GOD be with mom and dad, sister or brother.
Be with friends and cousins, aunts and uncles, grandfathers and grandmothers.
The roads of Nebraska was paved with friends
on the journey; going to the end.
Holding the U.S.A. flag waving him goodbye,
pressing on the roadside as the hearse passed by.
American Flags, all afloat in the air,
so many hands on people's chests; saying a prayer.
Many friends that cared and showed love,
as the roadside was crowded on hills below and above.
With people mournig this man's death,
some people holding a bouquet of baby's breath.
GOD BLESS American again today.
Help our women and men come home to stay.
Bring them away from the evil they daily see,
if it is Thine own will, LORD; let it be.

Standing here looking at this stone,
you're someone I've never known.
But I can feel your spirit,
your voice I can almost hear it.
Your eyes looking back at me stoic,
your expression is so heroic.
Your life you courageously gave,
for the home of the brave.
America you proudly defended,
and you will always be commended.
America will always be proud of you,
you're the proud, the brave, and the few.
You sacrificed your life for those,
who turned their backs to oppose.
Freedom will always be worth,
the reason you left this earth.
Heroes don't come back from war,
over America their spirits soar.
Thank you soldier for being brave,
sacrificing your life for mine to save. Close
War's Fallen Heroes. / Ed Meyer (none- (WWII veteran) )
These WARRIORS fought for the land of the free,
BRAVE is all they know to be.
They fought till their last breath,
FEARLESS of meeting their death.
It was a struggle to make it through.
they COURAGEOUSLY did what they had to do.
DETERMINED to do it all,
even if if meant taking the fall.
There were days when they felt they had enough,
They hated all the sorrow,
holding on for one more day,
hoping for another tomorrow.
These men SACRIFICED their lives for others,
they weren't just WARRIORS they were BROTHERS.
Many suffered the brunt of WAR,
the souls of the fallen will forever soar.
They answered their COUNTRY's CALL,
now they're HEROES listed on a wall.
All those who were sadly laid to rest,
will be remembered as AMERICA's BEST. Close

In looking at the web-site this morning - WOW - what a loving tribute to you! You have made a difference in this world without trying and you are a hero to all of us. We do miss your smile and your loving arms around us giving us all a hug; but you made the world a better place to live. My wish to all is that no one should forget the men and women overseas fighting for our freedom and in harms way!

Each Morning. / Dear Kevin Writing You Again (Your loving family and friends )
Each morning when we awake
we know that you are gone.
As no one knows the heartache
as we try to carry on.
Our hearts still ache with sadness
and many tears still flow.
What it meant to lose you,
no one will ever know.
Our thoughts are always with you,
your place no one can fill.
In life we loved you dearly,
in death we love you still.
There will always be a heartache,
and often a silent tear,
but always a precious memory
of the days when you are here. Close

Today is like yesterday..... / Dear Kevin You Are Loved And Missed Dearly (by your family )
Today is like yesterday...
tomorrow will be the same.
Only the day and date will change...
the rest will all remain
When someone asks me how I am.....
or what it is I do ?
The answer to those questions are....
I wish I were with you.
There is no way to explain
the pain...or how it is I feel.
I try to get up every day...
and somehow try to deal.
Although it seems as if I'm fine...
I've just learned how to hide.
I place a mask upon my face....
and keep it deep inside.
I cry when no one is around....
can't hardly face another day.
I feel so sad and lonely......
since the day you had to go away.
They think time heals everything.....
but that is just not true.
I know that, I will not heal.....
being left here without you.
Each morning when I wake up....
the sorrow is still here.
I wish this was some mistake....
that never had to happen,
especially to you dear.
All I have are pictures....
and my many memories.
That often are so painful
that never will be erased,
pictures of you sweet, gentle,
kind, loving, caring you.
I long to have you back with me....
but know it won't come true,
I will never have that life again....
that life with you, beautiful you.

Please don't sing sad songs for me,
forget your grief and fear,
for I am in a perfect place
away from pain and tears.....
It is far away from hunger
and hurt and want and pride,
I have a place in Heaven
with the Master at my side.
My life on earth was very good,
as earthly life can go,
but paradise is so much more
than anyone can know.....
My heart is filled with happiness
and sweet rejoicing too.
To walk with GOD in perfect peace,
a joy forever new. Close

I wanted to find some words on a card.
That would help you when life gets so hard.
When it seems that you cannot bear the grief---
perhaps can't go on.
When deep in your heart
there's no trace of joy or happiness or relief.
Some words that would comfort you---
when late at night----
the sadness and grief return.
When you are too tired to fight.
When the tears that flow so often
it seems that you will run dry
and life gets so tough
that you feel like you just want to cry.
Or at least hide somewhere safe
from the unbearable pain.
Someplace you can rest
until you can find some joy again.
I wish, I knew the words that
you so desperatley need to hear---
that will help and heal
and remove some of the tears.
What are the words
that will lighten the load ?
I wish I had a secret code.
If only I knew the words to say---
to encourage and bless you
or comfort you in some way.
I do not know the words,
but this I can do.
I will pray
to the Father for you. Close

Please don't mourn for me..... / Dearest Loved Ones I. Will Always Be With You (Me)
My Dearest Family and Friends,
I'm still here
though you don't see me.
I'm right by your side
each night and day,
and within your heart
I will always stay.
My body is gone
but I'm always near,
I'm everything you feel,
see or hear.
My spirit is free but I will never depart.
As long as you keep me alive in your heart.
I'll never wander out of your sight----
I'm the brightest star on a summer night.
I'm never beyond your reach----
I'm the warm moist sand when
you are at the beach.
I'm the colorful leaves
when fall comes around
and the pure white snow
that blankets the ground.
I'm the beautiful flowers
of which you are so fond----
The clear cool water
in a quite pond.
I'm the first blossom
you see in the Spring;
the first warm raindrop
that April will bring.
I'm the first ray of light
when the Sun starts to shine,
and you'll see that the face
in the moon is mine.
When you start thinking
there's no one to love you,
you can talk to me
through The Lord above you.
I'll whisper my answers
through the leaves on the trees,
and you'll feel my presence
in the soft summer breeze.
I'm the hot salty tears
that flow when you weep
and the beautiful dreams
that come when you sleep.
I'm the smile on your face
when you think of me.
Just look for me,
I'm every place.

There is nothing I can do,
to make Kevin come back.
There are no words I can say,
that replaces the words and voice you so long to hear.
There are no answer's I can give,
that will satisfy your questions.
There is not another soul that will ever replace him.
Never another love that could ever replace the special love you shared.
I can not promise your broken heart
will ever be complete.
I will not deny it was a tragedy.
I will not lie and tell you that he will come back.
For he never really left.
I do promise he hears you.
I will say he loves you no matter the distance.
I will not lie and say " he is waiting to greet you someday."
He is with you every step you take,
He is with you in everything you do.
He is the air you breathe.
He is every beat of your heart.
" He is like the wind. You cannot see him---but you always feel him."
Deepest Sympathy to you all.

~~I won't say, " I know how you feel"---
because I don't. I have lost parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and pet's, but I've never lost a child.
~~I won't say, "You'll get over it"---
because you won't. Life will have to go on. The working, washing, cooking, cleaning, the common routines. The chores take your mind off your beloved child, but the hurt will still be there.
~~I won't say, "Other's will comfort you"---
because they may not.
~~I won't say, "Never mind, you have other beloved children." One child can not replace the love of another child.
So what will I say?
~~I will say, "I am here. I care. Anytime. Anywhere." I will talk about your child. We will talk about the good memories. I won't mind how long your grieve. I won't tell you to pull yourself together.
~~No, I do not know how you feel, but with sharing, perhaps I will learn a little of what you are going through.
~~And perhaps you'll feel comfortable with me and find your burden has eased. Try me.
You are probably wondering why? Why would a complete stranger offer to listen? Why do they care?
Because your precious child died defending our Country and my family. He paid the ultimate price for the freedom that we all have.

Two smiling eyes are sleeping,
Two busy hands are still,
The one you loved so deeply
is resting at God's will.
May he walk in sunshine,
God's love around him glow,
For all the happiness he gave you,
only a few will ever know.
It broke your hearts to lose him
but he did not go alone.
For a part of you went with him,
the day God called him home.
Safe in His hands. Secure in His love.
When life gets too hard, just look up above.
Lt. Gaspers for your sacrifice to ensure all of us have the freedom that we cherish. Freedom is never free.
Thank you again from all of America, especially from me.

How we spend our dash. / Henry Moss (none (WWII Veteran) )
I read of a man who stood to speak
at the funeral of a friend,
He referred to the dates on the tombstone
from the beginning to the end.
He noted the first came the date of his birth
and spoke the following date with tears,
but he said what mattered most of all
was the dash between those years.
For that dash represents all the time
he spent alive on earth,
and now only those who loved him
know what that little line is worth.
For it matters not how much we own.....
the cars.....the house.....the cash........
What matters is how we live and love
and how we spend our dash.
So think about this long and hard,
are there things you'd like to change?
For we never know how much time is left
that can still be arranged.
If we could just slow down enough
to consider what is true and real,
and understand the way
other people feel.
Be less quick to anger
and show appreciation more
and love people in our lives
like we have never loved before.
If we treat each other with respect
and more often wear a smile,
remembering this special dash
may only last awhile.
So when your eulogy is being read
with your life's actions to be rehashed,
would you be proud of the things they say
and how you spent your dash?
Thank you 1st Lt. Gaspers for your ultimate sacrifice. You were a Hero. You made the ultimate sacrifice not for yourself but for your country and all the people who love freedom all over the world. America will truly miss this fine young man. Godspeed to his family, friends, and all his loved ones and thank you again Mr. Gaspers for making America safe. Close
